what will life after school be like?

Monday, February 12, 2007

A little early for this but..

so tired, but i've come to a realization
and a time to change..
to make every last second count here..
because I've realized how great a ride I've had so far
despite all the pain and hurt and everything that is
not right in my life right now..

thank you for bringing me to a place
to learn as much as I can intellectually, emotionally, and socially
thank you for preparing and temporarily shielding me from the real world
thank you for developing me spiritually
thank you for teaching me about friendship
thank you for bringing me people that i can connect with on a completely different level
thank you for allowing me to work with inspirational people
thank you for giving me a great job
thank you for the financial and emotional support of my parents.
thank you for teaching me to look for the greater side of people.
thank you for your forgiveness for everytime i've fallen.

I can only hope by the end of this semester and the end of my 4 years here
that I've given back to someone or something on this campus.

In no order, Apt 4F, Catherine 114, Dave, and everyone else. Thank you for being with me every step of the way. Nothing but love.

2006 in rewind...

i can only say that 2006 has been the most up-and-down rollercoaster year for me. I've been blessed with friends that are not superficial, and would make time for me if i really did need their support. I've gone from living it up like a wild senior in the spring, to working for a tech startup company, logging 60 hrs/week this summer, to deciding to come back to Cornell for my masters, to securing a very rewarding job next year.

I've also sky-dived out of a plane, travelled to Taipei, partied in Taipei, connected with International students, and iron chefed for those that I care deeply about right now. Most of all I've learned a hard, valuable lesson in maintaining any type of friendship/relationship: Both people have to listen and give even if one feels like he/she might not have much to offer. You'd be surprised.

There are times that I forget about that and I've felt the repercussions.

I'm also less scared to open up to people now, and really try to get to know someone
even if I am putting myself out there because, isn't that what we're here for? -meeting new people
along the way, and connecting with them so that we can help each other grow in ways
we couldn't do individually?

Happy New Yearr guys, look at us now.
